School shows and other events The teaching staff of each school, in collaboration with the Central Pupil Council, selects the attendance of artistic performances (musical, theatrical, movies, etc.) in venues outside the school, during school hours, up to three times per school year.
The content of such a performance must be approved by the Director of Primary Education.
Other events that promote the purposes of the school or are in line with them may be organized during non-working hours or working hours, at the discretion of the teaching staff in collaboration with the Central Student Council. It is understood that, in cases of events during non-working hours, prior consultation with the respective Parents' Association will be required.
Pupils’ safety The school staff is responsible entirely for the pupils’ safety during their stay at school and during the various activities in or out of the school premises, which are organized by the school and the headteacher. They spot and inform the relevant services or the appropriate individuals about the problems related to the safety of the school buildings and the school places (non-employment of traffic warden, non-existence of pavements, non-existence of gates for protection and others).
However, the school staff is not responsible for the safety of the children that come to school before the defined time during which the teachers should be at school. They are neither responsible for those who stay after the end of the lessons. In cases where it is necessary to allow children to go home before or after the normal ending of lessons for serious reasons, the parents or guardians are informed.
Forbidding entrance to school
It is strictly forbidden to any person who doesn’t have a significant association with the school, to visit school premises without permission from the Director of Primary Education. Parents and guardians can visit the school at the pre-determined time. Other visits can be carried out after obtaining permission from the school head. Entering a school for advertising purposes or selling products or offering services or carrying out work that is not related to the school’s operation, is not permitted.
Transfer and use of mobile phones
According to the Regulations for the Operation of Public Primary Schools 2024, the transfer and use of mobile phones by pupils in Primary Education schools is prohibited.
Additionally, the transfer and use of mobile phones, electronic games/electronic computers/computers, or other touch screen devices during educational trips/visits are not allowed, with primary goal being the socializing of pupils and maximizing the benefits from their realization, unless they are an integral part of the purpose for which the educational trip/visit is carried out. It is understood that, regarding children with special needs, the use of electronic devices is allowed if and when considered necessary for their functionality.
Photography of pupils
Photographs of pupils are sensitive and personal data, and their management should be done with great care and in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679. In cases where any fee is charged for photographic coverage of events at schools and for commemorative photography of pupils, these photographs must be taken only by professional photographers. It is prohibited to publish photographs of pupils in magazines, school newspapers, printed materials, publications, etc., without the written consent of their parents/guardians. Posting photographs of pupils and school personnel on the internet and social media platforms is also prohibited without the written consent of the parents/guardians of the pupils and without the consent of the school personnel.

The teacher (class teacher or teacher responsible for First Aid) has been informed about the method of administering the medication and has relevant knowledge and skills to provide this assistance.
The teacher acts based on their own will.
Medication can be provided by a school assistant/escort for pupils with special needs, provided that the above conditions are met, and the relevant guidelines of the Director of Primary Education are followed.
Infectious diseases
The headteacher of the school in which there is an infectious disease among the pupils or a disease for which there is suspicion that it is infectious, acts based on relevant guidelines from the School Health Service and the Office of Safety and Health of the Ministry, to which they must immediately refer.
Parents’ association
All parents of the pupils who attend Pre-Primary, Primary and Special Education Schools are members of the Parents’ Associations which function in the specific schools. All members have the right to elect and be elected. The General Assembly of the Parents’ Association elects the Administrative Council at the beginning of each school year. The Parents’ Association cooperates closely with all the stakeholders involved for the smooth and fruitful functioning of the school.
