Lifelong Learning Programmes of Vocational Education and Training (Afternoon and Evening Classes)

The Lifelong Vocational Education and Training Programs operate under the responsibility of the Directorate of Secondary Technical and Vocational Education and Training of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sport and Youth and aim to:
  • Continuous training of technical staff to meet the new needs of the labor market.
  • Providing preparatory courses for the Pancyprian Exams and other external examinations for which special preparation is necessary.
  • Providing the citizens of the Republic of Cyprus with additional qualifications that will help them secure their jobs or their professional and personal development.
  • Providing opportunities for people who have not completed high school or technical and vocational education to gain knowledge, skills and competences that will assist them in their career.
  • Providing lifelong learning and social opportunities to those who are interested in continually enriching their knowledge and skills.

The Lifelong Vocational Education and Training Program offer three-year and one year programs.

Three-year programs
The three-year programs are based on the curriculum of the respective daily programs of the Technical and Vocational Education and Training Schools, of the practical direction. Those who successfully attend and complete a three-year program at the technician’s level, receive a Vocational Training Evening Certificate. Courses at the “three-year programs” take place twice a week for 10 periods per week.

One-year programs
Students who attend the one-year program receive a certificate of attendance. The one-year programs are taught once a week and last 80 sessions throughout the school year.

* Additionally, the Directorate of Secondary Technical and Vocational Education and Training may organise a series of exams on technical subjects as well as preparatory courses that take place for the Pancyprian Exams.

Students who graduated from a Secondary Education School and after successfully completing a three-year program in the Lifelong VET they obtain an apolyterion which is equivalent to the apolyterion of the morning Secondary Technical and Vocational Education.

Programmes start
One-year programs: The programs start in November, with the last start date on November 15th.
Three-year programs: The programs start in October with the last start date on October 15.
